- East Coast Environmental Law
- Two ELSS members are elected each year to sit on East Coast Environmental Law's Board of Directors and work with various Board Committees
- Research for the Environmental Law Summary Series, a yearly publication that addresses an issue in environmental law
- Additional research for East Coast Environmental Law, including fundraising possibilities and strategic planning t
- Developing an Environmental Law Placement Program for students to be matched up with organizations who need legal advice and assistance with environmental laws
- Developing a clinical environmental law course available for credit
- Organizing an Environmental Law Career Night
- Career Night provides students with an opportunity to meet Halifax lawyers and learn about alternative legal careers that are possible
- This year's career night was held in March and was co-sponsored with SALSA
- Meet the MELP profs social event
- An opportunity for students to meet MELP (Marine and Environmental Law Program) profs, discuss courses with upper year students, and find out more about the program
- Halifax Green Guide
- The Green Guide is distributed to incoming first year students in September and contains an updated listing of cafes, restaurants and stores that offer green products or services
- Sustainable Firm Development
- We are developing a restaurant list to provide to firms that will outline which restaurants in Halifax serve sustainable seafood
- Greening Weldon Law School
- We have been working with the Dalhousie Office of Sustainability to conduct a Sustainability Assessment of the Weldon Building
- Other Activities
- Supporting the participation of a team in an environmental moot competition
- Fundraising activities, such as bake sales
- Supporting the work of national and local environmental groups

Previous Events
- Involved in the creation of East Coast Environmental Law, an organization that was formed in 2007 to offer legal advice and conduct research on how to improve and effectively use environmental laws
- Supported Law Hour presentation with David Boyd
- Created the Elizabeth May Discretionary Award which is awarded to a 3rd year student in the MELP program who dedicates time to environmental initiatives at Dalhousie and in the community
- Supported a Bill in the Provincial Legislature to ban Vision, a potentially toxic herbicide
- Raised money for Mangrove swamp protection in the aftermath of the December 2004 tsunami
- Sponsored speakers, including Elizabeth May, at the Idealaw Conference 2004
- Installed “Recycled Recyclers” in the Weldon law building
